Supreme Court has voided the appointment of Len Bautista as acting administrator of Marina. The Supreme Court has ruled her appointment unconstitutional on grounds that she was also holding the post of undersecretary for maritime transport at the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC). The Marina administrator must be checked by the undersecretary for transport, and naming one person for the two posts would remove check and balance.
Until now, the bodies were not yet recovered from the ill-fated Princess of the Stars that capsized during the rage of typhoon Frank. Since the Romblon tragedy, there were still a series of mishap involving sea vessels.
While these were going on, Ms. Bautista still managed to tour in Europe. There were reports that certain officials, politicians influenced the administrator from doing further investigation. This only shows how incompetent she is. As DZRH reported, a case should have been filed against her for causing innocent lives to perish in the series of sea mishaps.
