Ricky Martin has officially announced on his website that he is gay. After years of being quiet, he has finally come out in the open of his sexuality. The years of him being quiet allowed him to reflect on his situation and it made him stronger and gave him power to conquer his emotions.
During his interview with Barbara Walters back in 2000, the host (Barbara Walters) pushed him hard to admit if he was really indeed gay. And the way Ricky Martin refused to do so made the public believe that he really was gay.
Prior to his announcement, he tweeted about his coming announcement with simply writing “my life.” And he quoted what Martin Luther King, Jr. said that : “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
