The results night of ABS-CBN’s X Factor Philippines never fails to excite the viewers as we all await who gets to go home and bowed out off the competition.
Last night, Modesto Taran from Cagayan de Oro , who was the oldest among the contestants went home.
Modesto Taran landed on the bottom 2 garnering the lowest number of votes, online and thru texts, alongside, Takeoff.
While Takeoff’s bottom 2 position for the second time came as a shock to some viewers despite a great reception on the performance night, the judges’ votes came even more surprising.
Ms. Pilita Corales, who happens to be the mentor of Modesto Taran voted for his elimination.
Some thought of it as an uncool thing to do, many got disappointed. But others hailed Ms. Pilita as being realistic and professional for doing a tough act of sending home your own ward.
Modesto had often communicated with Ms. Pilita how much he misses his family. Ms. Pilita Corales took the cue from Modesto himself, that it was probably time for him to go home. Being on the bottom two, sort of , paved the way for his leaving the X Factor Philippines.
Three judges voted for Mang Modesto and they were Charice, Gary Valenciano and Ms. Pilita Corales. Martin Nievera was not able to cast his vote as 3 of the judges had already voted for Taran’s elimination.
It was indeed admirable how Mr. Modesto Taran gracefully accepted his fate.
My X-Factor Poll last August 20 got the results differently. 57% or 38 votes out of the 67 that voted want Kedebon Colim out of the Top 9 Performances. Unfortunately, it was not how it went. Kedebon still survived last night’s elimination night.
The remaining X Factor Philippines’ contestants who will vie next weekend’s performance night are the following:
- Jeric Medina
- Gab Maturan
- Kedebon Colim
- Joan Da
- Allen Sta Maria
- KZ Tandingan
- Takeoff
- Daddy’s Home
